The (Negative) Facebook Effect

It isn't just me! Others are starting to realize how Facebook is having more cons than pros. What's your view? How do you think Facebook has effected you? Do you think you have been effected by Facebook after what you've seen here?

  1. Even though Facebook has some positive aspects, I agree that it has more negatives overall. Facebook is definitely a distraction for when I am trying to get school work done. I've realized that I'm not even logging in because I care about updates on what my friends are doing; I'm logging in because it's a habit and I do it if I'm bored...and I really don't like that I do that! On a privacy note, I've made it so my pictures can be viewed by friends only and I don't have my address on my profile. I don't find it difficult to make sure that my pictures are appropriate in case potential employers check out my Facebook. I've decided to keep my Facebook for the time being, since I still use it for useful things like keeping up with family members who are far away, or organizing groups of people for events.

  2. Facebook is definitely something I see as effecting individuals in a negative manner. I know for me it seems to violate my privacy regardless of how much I post. Also, I notice that it a place for individuals to be something they are not and see that as negative because it takes away from reality.
